Survey A visual survey is conducted by the shipping company to assess the items that need to be moved. Surveys can be completed in person with a representative from the surveying party or virtually via a video call.
Once the survey is complete, an inventory sheet with a breakdown of the items will be created to determine the size of the shipment and calculate a quote based on the volume or weight.
Quote: A quote will list not only the estimated cost for the move, it will also outline any inclusions or exclusions based on type of shipment (air, road, sea) and note any other important details.
Packing & Collection: On the agreed packing date, the shipping company will wrap, pack and load all belongings. Upon sign off, the truck will then move the goods to the origin location handling warehouse to be organized.
Packing and unpacking services include all packing materials and/or removal of used or unused material.
Origin handling: At the origin warehouse the packed goods are prepared to be shipped. This includes the completion of all required documentation such as insurance valuations, export and customs clearance forms.
Transportation: For sea shipments, goods are transported from the origin port to the destination port. The transit timeline depends on shipping lanes, origin/destination locations, and volume.
Destination handling: At the destination port the goods are processed and checked through import customs. Further documentation may be required at this stage, often determined at the government level. Any delays will be communicated, and all parties informed on progress.
Delivery: Once the goods have cleared import customs, they are sent to the destination warehouse to be organized for delivery. Storage can easily be arranged if more time is needed to prepare housing before delivery
